Weather Vain

Editorial concept featuring Mother Nature reimagined as a vengeful spectre bent on our destruction, borne of derision, deception, and denial. Long past caring, she smokes a cigarette with the cool detachment of some forsaken mistress savouring the demise of all who took her for granted. Her message and countenance are clear: “If you don’t give a damn about me, why should I give a damn about you?” It is a withering message in more than one sense. And so, our plight is rendered a non-issue, as implied by the title of the illustration which intimates both our inability to win her back, and the hubris that turned her against us in the first place.
