Net Energy

Inspired by an admiration for film noir (specifically, “Blade Runner”), I set out to create the look of a semi-fictional city whose commerce is inundated and fueled by oil production and revenues, lorded over by the equivalent of a proverbial “haunted mansion” on a hill in the form of a petroleum refinery. This was an admittedly dark route to take for the subject matter involved, but those were headier times and so, such a brash angle was somewhat more acceptable at the time.
