Hell Or High Water
It is not often that I have created a work to soothe my own soul as a matter of catharsis, recovery, and healing. But sometimes, life demands it around its unseen curve. The topics at hand are spirit and persistence. Here, a flame burns in a jar as brightly as it ever could on land, submerged and deprived of fresh oxygen as it is. Perched atop it all, a robin looks forward as a fabled harbinger of new beginnings, as do I, wet with the light of possibility that it bathes in. It is also not often that I have created so self-profound a work with so little a description. I suppose that art truly must speak for itself in some instances (took me decades to learn that lesson!)
